Week Six

Spent about 10 minutes revising my spotlight article and emailing it to Laraine. Also spent about ten minutes entering returned questionnaire info into Word table and contacting/emailing one final publisher with whom I hadn't managed to satisfactorily connect.

Tuesday I spent about 15 minutes re-contacting Granite Publishing to try to get information from them. Also updating the top ten list with all the information I received since Monday.

Wednesday I spent about an hour entering data into the top ten list and putting it in order, as well as revising the spotlight article according to Laraine's suggestions.

Week Five for the Last Time

Spent an hour and 45 minutes writing and revising spotlight article. Spent an hour and fifteen minutes looking through book of charitable foundations and recording data in Excel spreadsheet. Spent an hour and a half organizing and entering data for top ten list, also emailing several people again. Spent half an hour updating Blog and worklog.

Week Five Again

Spent 45 minutes today gathering information from returned questionnaires and placing it into a Word table. Trying to figure out the format for the layout of the top ten publishing companies list.

Week Five continued

Spent about 45 minutes calling publishing companies, establishing a contact person, and then re-sending the form to the proper person. Also recorded data already received from two companies into a Word document.

Week Five

Spent 2.5 hours researching publishing companies, recording data gathered in Excel spreadsheet, and preparing letter to send to selected publishing companies requesting information for the "top ten" list.

Spent an additional 25 minutes emailing prospective list companies.

Week Four Again

I spent two hours today researching for the Top 10 LDS Publishers list. Trying to figure out what the criteria should be for the list.

Week Four Continued

I spent about two hours going through a book of various charitable foundations looking for sponsors for Irreantum and entering the information for foundations which may be interested in donating money into an Excel spreadsheet.

Week Four

I spent from about 1:30 to about 4:30 implementing Alexis and my changes and suggestions into the fiction excerpt Laraine gave us to work on. I then sent it to Laraine for evaluation.

Week Three continued

I didn't get as much done this week as I had hoped. I did start implementing the changes Alexis and I discussed for the fiction piece, but I only got through the first chapter. I also spent some time on the phone with Laraine figuring out a semester plan. I think it will be a lot easier now to organize myself, since I know better what is expected of me during the next couple of weeks.

Week Three

Tuesday Alexis and I met for about an hour and a half to go over our suggestions for the fiction piece. After discussing our editing marks and deciding which to suggest to the author and which to discard it was decided that I would put all our suggestions into the electronic document using the track changes feature and then forward it to the author.

Week Two

I haven't done anything specific yet this week, read and responded to several email. Laraine sent Alexis and I a fiction manuscript to edit/prepare for the June issue. We will meet next Tuesday to discuss our changes. I haven't had a chance to look at that yet; I will get to it on Friday after I've finished my presentation.

I spent about three hours Friday looking over and editing the fiction piece. Alexis and I will be meeting on Tuesday to discuss it and compare editing notes.
